5-Minute Quickstart

!!! info "TL;DR" Log in to Canviq via magic link, submit your first feedback item, and view the public roadmap. No credit card or password required.

Prerequisites

  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
  • An email address

Step 1: Log In

Navigate to canviq.app and click Log In.

1. Enter your email address
2. Click "Send Magic Link"
3. Check your inbox for the login link
4. Click the link to log in

Your account is created automatically on first login. No password needed.

!!! note Canviq uses magic link authentication only. There are no passwords and no OAuth (Google/GitHub) login options.

Step 2: Submit Your First Feedback Item

After logging in, you'll land on the public feedback board.

1. Click the "+ Submit Feedback" button (top-right)
2. Choose feedback type:
   - Idea: Feature request or enhancement
   - Problem: Bug or issue you're experiencing
3. Enter a clear title (5-200 characters)
4. Add detailed description (20-5000 characters)
5. Select a category (optional, e.g. "Mobile App")
6. Click "Submit"

Example submission:

Title: Dark mode for the dashboard Type: Idea Category: UI/UX

Description: I'd love a dark mode option for the admin dashboard. The current
light theme is hard on the eyes during late-night work sessions. A toggle in the
user settings would be perfect.

Step 3: Vote and Follow

After submitting, you can vote on other submissions.

1. Browse the feedback board
2. Click the upvote arrow on items you care about
3. You'll automatically follow items you vote on
4. Adjust notification preferences in your profile settings

!!! info Each user gets one vote per submission. Voting is how you signal priority to the product team.

Step 4: View the Public Roadmap

See what's planned, in progress, and shipped.

1. Click "Roadmap" in the navigation menu
2. Filter by status:
   - Open: New submissions awaiting review
   - Under Review: Team is evaluating
   - Planned: Accepted and scheduled
   - In Progress: Actively being worked on
   - Shipped: Completed and deployed
   - Declined: Not planned
   - Merged: Duplicate, redirects to another submission

The roadmap updates in real-time as the team changes submission statuses.

Step 5: Configure Your Profile

Customize your notification preferences and profile details.

1. Click your avatar (top-right) → "Profile"
2. Update display name and bio
3. Set notification preferences:
   - Email frequency: Realtime, Daily Digest, Weekly Digest
   - Notification types: Status Changes, Comments, New Submissions
4. Toggle "Auto-follow on vote" (enabled by default)
5. Click "Save Changes"
