Submitting Feedback¶
!!! info "TL;DR" Submit ideas (feature requests) or problems (bug reports) via the feedback form. Write a clear title, detailed description, and select a category. Canviq checks for duplicates before submission and automatically follows you on the item.
Feedback Types¶
Canviq supports two types of submissions:
Ideas¶
Feature requests, enhancements, or new capabilities you'd like to see:
- "Add dark mode to the mobile app"
- "Export feedback board as CSV"
- "Integrate with Slack for notifications"
Problems¶
Bugs, issues, or broken behavior you've encountered:
- "Search returns no results for special characters"
- "Email notifications delayed by 24 hours"
- "Vote count doesn't update in real-time"
Choosing the right type helps the product team triage and prioritize effectively.
Submission Form¶
Step 1: Open the Form¶
Click the "+ Submit Feedback" button in the top-right corner of the feedback board.
Step 2: Choose Feedback Type¶
Select either Idea or Problem from the type selector.
!!! tip Not sure which to pick? If it's something that doesn't exist yet, it's an Idea. If something is broken, it's a Problem.
Step 3: Write a Clear Title¶
The title should be concise and descriptive (5-200 characters):
Good titles:
- "Add two-factor authentication for admin accounts"
- "Mobile app crashes when opening large feedback threads"
- "Support Markdown in submission descriptions"
Bad titles:
- "Feature request" (too vague)
- "This is broken" (no context)
- "I have a suggestion about the thing we talked about yesterday in the meeting with the team about improving the user experience" (too long)
Step 4: Add a Detailed Description¶
The description should explain the what, why, and how:
**What:** Add a dark mode toggle to the admin dashboard.
**Why:** Many team members work late at night and find the light theme hard on
the eyes.
**How:** Add a toggle in the user settings menu that persists the preference in
local storage.
**Context:** Most modern tools (Notion, Linear, Slack) offer dark mode as a
standard feature.
Markdown is supported:
- Bold and italic text
Code snippets- Links: Example
- Lists, blockquotes, and headers
!!! warning "Minimum Length" Descriptions must be at least 20 characters. Submissions that are too short are likely to be declined for lack of context.
Step 5: Select a Category (Optional)¶
Categories help organize submissions by product area:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Mobile App | iOS/Android features, crashes |
| Web App | Dashboard, settings, navigation |
| API | REST endpoints, webhooks, SDK bugs |
| Integrations | GitHub, Slack, Zapier connections |
| Security | Auth issues, permissions, MFA |
| Performance | Slow page loads, timeout errors |
| Documentation | Missing docs, unclear guides |
If you're unsure, leave it blank. The product team can assign a category later.
Step 6: Review for Duplicates¶
Before submitting, Canviq checks for similar submissions:
⚠️ Similar submissions found:
1. "Dark mode for dashboard" (12 votes) — Planned
2. "Night theme support" (8 votes) — Under Review
If a duplicate exists, upvote the existing submission instead of creating a new one. This consolidates feedback and helps the team prioritize.
Step 7: Submit¶
Click "Submit Feedback". You'll be redirected to the submission detail page and automatically followed for updates.
After Submission¶
What Happens Next?¶

To edit:
