User Profile¶

!!! info "TL;DR" Your profile shows all your submissions and votes. Manage notification preferences, download your data (GDPR), and customize your display name and avatar. Access via the avatar menu (top-right).

Accessing Your Profile¶

Click your avatar (top-right corner) and select "Profile" from the dropdown menu.

Profile Tabs¶

Submissions Tab¶

View all feedback items you've submitted:

Actions:

• Click any row to view the submission detail page
• See current status, vote count, and comment count
• Sort by date, status, or votes

Votes Tab¶

View all submissions you've voted on:

Actions:

• Click "Unfollow" to stop receiving notifications
• Your vote remains even if you unfollow
• Sort by status, date voted, or vote count

Activity Tab¶

See your recent activity:

🔷 You voted on "Dark mode for dashboard" — 2 days ago
🔷 You commented on "API v2 with REST hooks" — 3 days ago
🔷 You followed "GitHub issue sync" — 5 days ago
🔷 You submitted "Export CSV broken" — 1 week ago

Profile Settings¶

Click "Settings" in the profile menu to customize your account.

Display Name¶

Change the name shown on your submissions and comments:

Current: Jane Doe
New: Jane Smith

[Save Changes]

Avatar¶

Upload a custom avatar (max 2 MB, PNG/JPG/WebP):

Current Avatar: [Jane's Photo]

[Upload New Avatar]

Alternative: If you signed up with OAuth (Google, GitHub), your avatar is synced automatically. To change it, update your OAuth provider profile.

Email Address¶

Your email is displayed but cannot be changed here. To change your email:

1. Go to Settings → Security → "Change Email"
2. Enter new email and verify via confirmation link

Bio¶

Add a short bio (max 280 characters):

Bio: Product manager at Acme Inc. Passionate about user feedback and building
products people love.

[Save Changes]

The bio appears on your public profile page (if enabled).

Notification Preferences¶

Control how and when you receive notifications.

Email Frequency¶

Choose how often you want to receive emails:

Recommendation: Start with "Daily Digest" and adjust based on volume.

Notification Types¶

Toggle specific notification types:

• [ ] Status Changes — Notify when a followed submission changes status
• [ ] Comments — Notify when someone comments on a followed submission
• [ ] Replies — Notify when someone replies to your comment
• [ ] Official Updates — Notify when a team member posts an official comment
• [ ] New Submissions — Notify when new feedback is posted (admin only)

Recommendation: Enable "Status Changes" and "Official Updates" at minimum.

Auto-Follow Preferences¶

Control automatic following behavior:

• [ ] Auto-follow on vote (enabled by default)
• [ ] Auto-follow on comment (enabled by default)
• [ ] Auto-follow on submission (enabled by default)

Use case: Disable "Auto-follow on vote" if you vote frequently but don't want to be notified about every status change.

Data Export (GDPR)¶

Download all your data as a JSON file:

Included in export:

• All submissions (title, description, status, votes, created date)
• All votes (submission ID, voted date)
• All comments (content, submission ID, created date)
• All follows (submission ID, followed date)
• Account metadata (email, display name, created date)

Use case: GDPR right to data portability. Download your data before deleting your account.

Account Deletion¶

Request account deletion with a 30-day grace period:

What happens:

1. Your account is marked for deletion (30-day grace period)
2. During the grace period, you can cancel deletion by logging in
3. After 30 days, your account is permanently deleted
4. Your submissions and comments are anonymized (author changed to "Deleted User")
5. Your votes are removed

Warning: Deletion is irreversible after the 30-day grace period.

Security Settings¶

Change Password¶

Update your password (email+password accounts only):

Current Password: ************

Note: OAuth accounts (Google, GitHub) do not have a password. To add password authentication, click "Set Password".

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)¶

Enable TOTP-based MFA for extra security:

1. Click "Enable MFA"
2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password)
3. Enter the 6-digit code to verify
4. Save recovery codes in a secure location

Recommendation: Enable MFA if you're a team member with admin access.

Active Sessions¶

View and revoke active sessions:

Click "Revoke" to log out of a session remotely.

API Keys¶

Manage API keys for programmatic access:

Actions:

• Click "Revoke" to immediately invalidate the key
• Click "Edit" to change scopes (requires re-authentication)

Privacy Settings¶

Profile Visibility¶

Control who can see your profile:

• Public — Anyone can view your submissions and votes
• Private — Only you and team members can view your profile

Activity Visibility¶

Control whether your activity appears in public feeds:

• [ ] Show my votes on submission detail pages
• [ ] Show my comments on submission detail pages
• [ ] Show my submissions on the public board

Note: Disabling these settings does not delete your activity, only hides it from public view.
